Oktoberfest 2010 Pt.2

Where I left off.... while at the Oktoberfest, we took a skyride up Hunter Mountain.  This year Hunter was in the process of installing a new 6 person high speed lift while we were there, which meant the lift that was running did not take us to the very top.

Since no one can tell me I can't get to the top of the mountain, I decided I must walk to the top.

Wow!! I really did not expect it to be as difficult as it was. It seemed like it took us forever to get just a few feet.

The views from the top are always worth it, though.
. At the top of the mountain is a statue of Rip Van Winkle. Rip is well known through the catskills as the story was taken place in these mountains.

After exploring for a half hour, we decided to catch up with the rest of the group, and began making our way back down to the top of the lift. HA! This wasn't as easy as I thought either, and actually fell a few times. It was really pretty steep!

We got in line to get back down to the base of the mountain. We were HUNGRY, so we decided to go and grab something to eat.

Where else, but LAST CHANCE CHEESE in Tannersville, NY!!! Yum!!!!

Oktoberfest 2010 Pt.1

Some pictures I took in the Fall of 2010 in the Catskills of New York and NEPA
This photo was taken while driving by Kenozia Lake, in Shokan, NY
The roads in the area were flooded from this rapid and overflowing river in Phonecia, NY.
Driving through Phonecia, I snapped a picture of this old market.
We stayed with friends at a lovely rental home while attending Hunter Mountain's Oktoberfest.
Relaxing with a brew, while going through pictures on my laptop.

These photos were all taken at the Oktoberfest.

This beautiful building is the Kaatskill Mountain Club. We stayed here a few years ago in the winter, while snowboarding. That pool is open all year long, and you can get into it through an interior entrance.

Testing, Testing Pt.1

Welcome to my first post!

My name is Laurel. I am partially completely addicted to reading blogs so I decided to make my own to be able to show my life through pictures!

This is my boyfriend of almost 6 years, Brian. He really wanted me to start this blog, figuring I would stop trying to talk to him about other blogs I read. =)~
This is Madeline. She thinks she is human. Actually, she might be right. She likes socks.
This is Charlie. He probably wants you to stop looking at him. I would listen!
